Meet the Founder
Six months ago, I didn’t know that venture capital was one of five categories making up private equity — I thought they were two entirely separate things. When I asked my friends if they knew, all of them looked at me confused. That moment stuck with me. The financial services industry is messy, filled with hundreds of terms, acronyms, and conflicting opinions, and almost nobody my age has a map for it. My goal with this website is to learn about these nuances myself and share them with the world in an engaging way.
I’m Kyle Bernshteyn, a 17-year-old high school senior who has found a love for the venture capital field. As a young boy walking through the city, I saw problems all around me: litter on the streets, dangerous construction sites, hotel check-in systems so slow they made my family late for dinner. I wanted to fix all of them. But I quickly realized that one boy didn’t have the power, the time, or the knowledge to take on everything at once.
So I was faced with a dilemma: one boy, many problems. Then my dad told me about venture capital — investing in businesses with the potential to make real change. Suddenly the math flipped. Instead of one boy against many problems, perhaps it’s eight billion people against many problems. I can’t fix the world myself. But I can learn to spot the people who can, and one day, invest in them.
